Today’s review is going to be on these unbelievably beautiful Clinique Cheek Pop blushes.

Ugh! How pretty are these blushes! *hyperventilates*

Read on for my thoughts and swatches.

I ordered these from Sephora months ago and have been testing them a lot for the past two months. It was love at first sight when I first saw these appear on the Sephora homepage, and I gotta say, I’m still head over heels in love with them. Even more each day. Might sound crazy but it ain’t no lie, I think I actually like these more than the highly coveted Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes, which I reviewed here!

I got them in three shades – Ginger, Peach and Berry Pop. I actually ordered Plum Pop as well, but long story short, I ended up getting two of the Peach Pop shade. Seriously long story, so I ended up giving the other Peach Pop to my mom. I plan on getting the Berry Pop during the Sephora VIB sale at the end of the year!

Update: Clinique has now come out with lots more shades! They now have a total of 14 shades.

Shades

So here’s a breakdown of the shades:

01 Ginger Pop (warm, reddish coral)

02 Peach Pop (warm, pink coral)

03 Berry Pop (cool, vibrant dark-pink berry)

Update (6 October 2015): I recently got another shade from the Cheek Pop range, the 13 Rosy Pop, a warm rosy pink shade which is featured in my September 2015 Beauty Favorites here. Check out the swatches below:

It’s the perfect mixture between Ginger Pop and Berry Pop!

Finish

All three blushes have a very similar (if not the same) satin-sheen finish. You can see tiny itty-bitty particles of shimmer when you swatch it on your hand, but when applied with a blush you won’t be able to notice it at all. They actually add a very nice satiny, luminous finish to the skin, but does not accentuate pores or dry patches.

Texture

I was very surprised when I first swatched these because they are powder blushes but they have a slight creamy feel to it, almost mousse-y in texture, and not powdery at all. I applied this using my favorite blush brush, the Nars Yachiyo Brush, and when I swirled my brush around the pan the powder does not crumble and gets all over the place at all, unlike the case with the Hourglass Ambient Blushes and most powder blushes in general.

This glides on the skin very smoothly and isn’t streaky at all, it is very easy to blend. It’s hard to make mistakes with this blush because it’s so forgiving and blendable. It also doesn’t set/stick to the skin immediately upon application because of its creamy texture, unlike the case with some highly pigmented blushes like MAC and Rock & Republic blushes.

I was intimidated by the depth of the Berry shade because darker blush shades are usually much harder to blend, but I was so pleasantly surprised when it applied to easily smooth and light on the skin, but definitely buildable to any depth you desire. As they are very buildable, this would easily suit any skin tone.

Longevity

I have dry/combo skin and these blushes lasted for about 6-8 hours on me. It normally starts fading on the 6th hour mark, and by the 8th hour there’s still some color left but just not as vibrant.

Packaging

I seriously have nothing to complain about with regards to packaging. I love that it is clear and see-through, and it is very durable. The plastic is very thick, or maybe it’s acrylic? Either way it feels and looks like glass, so classy!
This is perfect for travelling because it isn’t bulky at all, durable, and the fact that it’s see-through (front and back!) makes it easier for you to find the shade you want to wear when you’re in a rush.

Overall

Overall, I am a big fan of the formula and am very impressed with its smoothness and luminous sheen. I just wish they’d last longer. On days when skin is oilier, the blush seems to fade much faster, but otherwise these blushes are the epitome of perfection.
