Evening Skincare Routine: Spring 2014

Aaand… here’s part two!

Again, this has been adjusted to suit my currently hormonal and oily skin, will probably tweak this a bit once my skin normalizes and goes back to being dry.

So, here’s my current evening skincare routine:

1. Remove Makeup:

Heavy Makeup: Evelom Cleansing Balm

This is still my number one favorite cleanser, you can read my detailed review of this cleanser here.I only use this on days when I’m wearing a full face of makeup coz this is so expensive! Running out of this cleanser not only hurts my wallet but my heart. LOL.

This rarely happens but if there are some eye makeup residue, I’d just wipe it off using my Bioderma.

2. Cleanse: Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm Anti-Aging

On days when I’m wearing minimal/no makeup, I’d skip using my Evelom Cleanser and use this instead. This product is a new addition to my skincare routine and I’m loving it!
It’s not as effective in removing eye makeup as the Evelom but it’s much more affordable, smells better, has safer ingredients (which makes it safer to be used as a mask!) and it’s less thick in consistency. It’s like a crossover between a cleansing balm and cleansing oil. People who aren’t used to using cleansing balms but are used to cleansing oils would probably like this, it makes the transition from using an oil to a balm much smoother.
Will be writing a review on this soon!

Cleanse (In-Shower): La Roche Posay Lipikar Syndet + Clarisonic Aria

On days when I shower at night, I’d actually double cleanse and wash my face in the shower using my La Roche Posay Lipikar Syndet with the Clarisonic Aria. I don’t know why but I’ve gotten into the habit of exfoliating my skin in the shower – it’s so therapeutical! The La Roche Posay Lipikar Syndet is my favorite in-shower cleanser because it can also be used as a body wash and shampoo. Very safe for sensitive skin, which is why I love using it with my Clarisonic because it won’t end up being too abrasive on the skin. Perfect combo!

3. Tone: Cle de Peau Serum Eclat

I love this product so much, have been using this for over a year! It’s called a serum but it actually works like a toner. It exfoliates the skin by getting rid of excess oils and dead skin cells on the surface of the skin.
So after I cleanse, I just saturate a cotton pad with this and gently wipe it all over my skin. It absorbs very quickly so I can move on to treating my skin straight away.

4. Treat: La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+

When my skin is at its normal state (i.e. dry) I usually use my Chanel Hydra Beauty Serum first, but I can skip that now that my skin is oily.
So I usually use the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo straight after toning. I also use this in the morning, you can read that here.

5. Eye Cream: Origins Ginzing

Same one I use in the morning! Check out my morning skincare routine post here. 😉

6. Moisturize: By Terry Creme de Rose

Started using this when I was using my Creme de La Mer and got bored of it. And I actually like this a lot more!

I only have a few weeks’ left of use, but I won’t repurchase because I still have my Creme de La Mer moisturizer so I’m going to have to wait.

Now that my skin is oilier I’d take out just a small bit from the pot and warm it up in between my fingers before I gently massage it into the skin. This surprisingly does not aggravate my oiliness, I thought heavy creams would clog pores and make the skin greasy but this is just super smooth on the skin. Major love!
So that’s it for my current skincare routine, will probably post an updated one in two months’ time!
Btw, I’m looking to purchase a La Roche Posay moisturizer since I love the brand so much. Honestly not keen on going back to my Creme de La Mer. Would love to hear suggestions from you guys if you have any LRP moisturizer recommendations!
Thanks for reading! XO
