Favorite Lipsticks of All Time!

Hey everyone!

I’m having SO much fun with the 30 Days of Beauty I’m doing on Instagram. Today’s post was about my favorite lipstick. It was so difficult for me to decide on ONE lipstick!!! I’m sure all you beauty addicts will feel me – you can never have enough lipsticks, nor can you ever love just one!

I finally decided on Chanel Rogue Allure in 91 Seduisante, though 🙂

However, I also wanted to give a shoutout to my other fave lippies.

Here are my favorite lipsticks from a range of colors, along with a short, mini review:

Swatches

Pink: Chanel Rogue Allure – 91 Seduisante

This is my current (and all-time) favorite pink “my lips but better” shade! Raved about this in my August Favorites post here so I won’t go into much detail with this one.

Red: Bite Beauty Creme Lipstick (VIB Rogue)

I only wear red lipstick maybe about 10 times a year – and that includes Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year. I’m just more of a natural-lipcolor kinda girl. So I’m very picky with my reds because I don’t want to look like a clown!

I’m so glad I came across this lipstick. Received it as a gift from Sephora for being a VIB Rogue member, and it’s the cutest, tiniest lipstick ever. Since I rarely use it, a tiny one might take a while for me to finish!

I probably have around 10 red lipsticks in total even though I never wear them (my models wear them!), but this is definitely the one I always end up reaching out for when I need a red lip because of its neutral tone.

I love how it’s not too warm/orange-toned, or cool/blue-toned.

It’s very creamy and buttery, has a satin-matte finish, and my oh my does this last a looong time on the lips. It probably only started fading by the 7-8th hour mark with minor eating and drinking.

Hot Pink: Marc Jacobs Lovemarc Lip Gel – 116 Happy Ending

I rarely ever wear hot pinks, but when I do, it’s this lippie.

It’s not 100%, fully opaque, but that’s actually why I love it. It makes this lippie so wearable!

This has got a satin, shiny finish and feels very moisturizing, soft and plump on the lips. I love the packaging so much, and it’s actually magnetic.

I will definitely be getting more shades from this line!

I love pairing this with my NARS lipgloss in Turkish Delight, which is a pale, nude pink ligloss, whenever I want to it down.

Plum: Paul & Joe Full Pigment Lipstick – Avenue Montaigne

I also rarely ever wear plum lippies, but when I do, it is this baby right here.

I’ve tried swatching so many different plum lippies from all sorts of brands, but none of them ever sparked my interest. This one though, is a different story.

I purchased this at Harrods in London during the Christmas holidays and I was specifically looking for a plum shade. Since it’s winter, there were a lot of plum shades around and I probably swatched plum shades from every single brand in the Harrods Beauty Apothecary. My last stop was the Paul & Joe counter and there was just something about its texture, finish and color that made me think “THIS IS THE ONE” at first swatch.

It’s got a satin-matte finish and is perfectly opaque at first application on the lips. What really made me buy this was the color, though. I can’t explain it, it’s got this reddish tinge to it which makes it a very wearable purple.

I have a total of 4 or 5 plum lip shades in my makeup collection from Illamasqua, NARS, MAC, and seriously forgot what else, but this one is the most wearable one on me. It’s also got the best finish and longevity. I could eat and drink all day and this would just fade to a beautiful plum stain.

Oh, and with these lipsticks, the bullet actually comes separately from the case. The case is refillable, so I think that’s really cute 🙂

Coral: YSL Rogue Volupte – No. 13

I’m REALLY sorry – turned out the lipstick that was in the pictures was no. 30, not 13 – they look so similar!!! LOL. Just realized this, like, right now, when I’m writing this up. All of the pictures are watermarked and ready to be published and I can’t be bothered to change it so what the heck. Haha.

The only difference is that 13 is a brighter coral than 30, 30 ends up looking more nude and pale on the lips.

These are very creamy, and honestly a bit difficult to apply because it’s so buttery and slippery, but once you get a hold of it, it is beautiful!

I love applying this in dabbing motions around the lips and then blending it out with a clean finger. I can layer it up to 3 times, depending on how bright I want my lips to be.

I love pairing this with my MAC Kissable Lipcolour in Exxx-hibisionist from MAC’s Peacocky line, which is a bright, red coral liquid lipstick.

Nude: Burberry Soft Satin Lipstick – No. 27 Tulip Pink

I personally cannot pull off a nude lip. I just can’t. I’d look I’ve been dead for years.

So whenever I want a nude lip, this is my go-to shade. It’s a pink nude (I look terrible wearing brownish nudes) that is a few shades lighter than my lip color, so I consider this a nude shade for me 🙂

First off, the scent. OH. MY. GAWD. Burberry Beauty products have a signature scent, not sure how to describe it, but it’s such an alluring scent I just want to bury my face in Burberry products so I can smell them all day. Has a hint of roses I think.

The packaging is also beautiful! It’s got the signature Burberry pattern embossed on the outer packaging, and on the lipstick bullet as well. The cap is also magnetic so it’s super easy to open and close the product.

The texture is smooth and creamy, and is so easy to apply, even without a mirror. It’s got a satin finish and is very moisturizing.

As for longevity, the shine won’t last for too long especially if you will be drinking/eating with this, since this is a light/nude shade, it won’t last as long as the more pigmented shades.

My Lips But Better (MLBB): Cle de Peau Extra Rich Lipstick – T5

While the Chanel Seduisante is a pink MLBB, this one is a true MLBB shade. It is almost the exact shade of my lips, just better 😉

Out of all these lipsticks, this is my second favorite lipstick. This has actually been my no. 1 favorite for about 1-2 years before the Chanel Rogue Allure in 91 Seduisante came along earlier this year, and the only reason the Chanel trumped this one is because it’s a bit more pink and vibrant, which really helps brighten up the whole complexion, whilst this shade is just a true-to-my-natural-lip-color shade and sometimes I myself, or people around me, can’t tell that I’m wearing lipstick.

It does have a shiny, satin finish though, so it kinda looks like I’m wearing a lipbalm.

This shade is described as a rose shade, and I find the formula to be better than the Chanel Seduisante. It’s opaque, creamy and rich and applies so smoothly on the lips. It never accentuates any dryness or flakiness. It’s actually very moisturizing, I don’t have to apply lipbalm before using this on days when my lips are dry.

So, I think if I can get a shade just like the Chanel within this Cle de Peau lipstick line, I would call that my favorite lipstick of all time.

Oh, and the packaging is beautiful! Especially the cap!
