Anastasia Beverly Hills Lustrous Lip Gloss Set Review

This gorgeous limited-edition set contains eight of Anastasia Beverly Hill’s best-selling lipgloss shades in one gift-ready box. The ultra-smooth, weightless formulas combine the intensity of a stain with the mirror-like shine of a gloss.

Since this is a limited edition Holiday gift set, it’s no longer available, but don’t fret! These are available individually for US$16 each. The set just makes it so much cheaper since it contains eight full-sized lipglosses (valued at a total of US$128) for only $40! WHAT!!!

Read on for my Anastasia Beverly Hills Lustrous Lip Gloss Set review.

I bought this set at Macy’s over the Christmas holidays but I haven’t even opened them until recently! What was I thinking?!

So I’ve have been trying each and every one of them out for the past two weeks, and I gotta say, these are definitely some of the best lipglosses I’ve ever worn, much better than my favorite Chanel, Tom Ford and Chantecaille ones!

Shades

These eight shades are the best-selling lip gloss shades from Anastasia’s lip gloss range, so these are all available individually.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lustrous Lipgloss Set - Swatches (1)

Gilded: A metallic champagne gold that can transform any lip color you have on! It’s so unique that any lip color you have underneath will transform into a chromatic gold finish.

Dainty: An opaque retro pink perfect for fair skin. I personally find this too pale for me so I rarely use it.

Sunset Strip: A fiery gold-flecked pink. This is the sheerest of them all, but I wear this the most because it just gives the lips a beautiful glow and dimension – the perfect lip “top coat”.

Metallic Rose: A shimmery classic mauve also makes the perfect top coat for any lip color. The color is deeper than Sunset Strip, it gives any lip color a mauve-ish tint with a gorgeous glow.

Weekend Barbie: A vivid bright pink. This color is very similar to the Revlon HD Lip Lacquer in HD Pink Ruby, reviewed here, and Chanel Glossimer #169. I love wearing this to top off my favorite bright pink lipstick, NARS Schiap!

Date Night: A romantic ruby red with a very similar finish to Weekend Barbie. The itty bitty bits of micro glitter and shimmer gives the lips a beautiful sheen and dimension. This is basically the bright red version of Weekend Barbie.

Socialite: A super pigmented and opaque sophisticated scarlet red. Perfect as a red-lip topper or even on its own!

Black Cherry: A moody plum purple, perfect for people who love rocking darker tones.

My top picks out of these eight are Gilded, Sunset Strip, Metallic Rose, Weekend Barbie and Socialite!

Formula

The formula of these glosses have got to be the best formulation I’ve ever encountered. They glide on smoothly on the lips, they don’t accentuate dry/flaky patches, and most important of all, they’re not sticky. They just feel so comfortable on the lips!

In terms of color payoff, the opaque ones are so pigmented that you don’t necessarily need any lip color underneath.

Anastasia, you’re killin’ it!

Longevity

The lighter and sheerer colors last about 5-6 hours before the gloss completely fades, but will last even longer without food. With the darker colors, the stain has actually lasted for up to 8 hours.

Final Verdict

I am beyond impressed with these lipglosses, and the fact that I got them for such a bargain makes me feel even better! Keep an eye out for sets like this, they’re worth every penny. Even the individual ones sold of US$16 are worth every penny IMO.

I think every beauty lover needs to have at least one Anastasia lip gloss in their collection!
