Review: Topshop Nude Eyes Cream Shadows

Looking for high quality cream shadows that can act as a base for powder/pigment shadows, or that can simply be worn on its own? Well, I think these Topshop Nude Eyes cream shadows are so overlooked and underestimated!

I honestly rarely see swatches of these on the Internet, so I hope you will find these helpful!

Check out my review of these gorgeous cream shadows below.

I got these a while ago in Topshop Emporium Melbourne for AU$18 each. They’re more expensive than the Maybelline Color Tattoos which retail for AU$11.95 (currently AU$5.97 at Priceline!) but I think some of these Topshop shades out-perform the Maybelline ones.

These come in five nude toned shades and their racy (yet fun!) names all imply nudity. Why am I not surprised?!

They are called Naked, Undressed, Stripped, Bare and Revealed.

Naked is described as “light brown” on the Topshop website. It is basically a nude, skin/flesh-colored brown. It has a matte finish and dries out almost immediately. I love using this as a primer!

Undressed is a brown taupe and has a slight iridescence to it. It is ever-so-slightly shimmery and really reminds me of Maybelline Color Tattoo’s “Tough As Taupe”, just its browner equivalent.

Bare, my personal favorite, is described as “Brown”, but it does not look pure brown to me. It looks more like a brownish/bronze gray taupe, much like Maybelline Color Tattoo’s “Bad to the Bronze”, but with a slightly shimmery finish. It can look silvery gray under certain lighting. This has the most amount of shimmer out of the five, but the thing I love about it is that the micro shimmers do not transfer or fall out easily. It stays in place the whole day!

Stripped is a matte, pale, nude pink. I would highly recommend this for people with fair skin who have blue veins that are visible on their lids. This will work as a great primer and color corrector for the lids!

Revealed is a matte dark brown, and the only dark shade out of the five. I love using this for smokey eye looks, makes such a great, matte base!

The packaging, as with all Topshop beauty products, are very minimalistic. It comes in a glass pot with a black matted lid. Simple yet classy!

As for the longevity, these lasted for more than 10 hours on me without primer, worn on its own or with powder shadows on top.

The texture is quite interesting. Bare and Undressed have whipped, mousse-like textures much like Tom Ford Cream Shadows, which I adore!

The other three, NakedStripped, and Revealed have denser (and slippery when warmed up) textures like the Maybelline Color Tattoos. However the differences in texture do not affect the longevity – they’re all just as long lasting and crease-free!

Unlike some cream shadows out there, these apply very evenly across the skin and even ones with a denser formula have a very creamy and buttery consistency once warmed up.

Final Verdict: I’m giving these a full mark because although they are more expensive than their drugstore competitors, these are so AMAZING. The Maybelline Color Tattoos are inconsistent with their qualities – some shades are so patchy and unusable, but they have some shades that are just well-rounded and incredible. These Top Shop Nude Eyes, though, are all incredible.

A 5/5 for incredible formula, pigmentation, longevity, and packaging. Highly recommend these!
