Philosophy Take A Deep Breath Oil-Free Oxygenating Gel Cream & Philosophy The Microdelivery Overnight Anti-Aging Peel Review

RY.com.au truly is one of my favorite online retailers for all things beauty, even before I started blogging! So of course I was beyond excited to review products that are available on their site.

Two of the things I’ve been testing out lately are the Philosophy Take A Deep Breath Oxygenating Gel Cream and the Philosophy Microdelivery Overnight Anti-Aging Peel kit. I also got to try out a couple of Illamasqua products, which I will feature in my next post!

For my review of the Philosophy products, keep on reading!

PHILOSOPHY TAKE A DEEP BREATH OIL-FREE OXYGENATING GEL CREAM REVIEW

AVAILABLE FROM: RY (A$55)

I swear by the Philosophy Purity cleanser and I used to use their Renewed Hope In A Jar Dry moisturizer (A$68; reviewed here) religiously, so I had no doubts about this moisturizer. This actually came at the perfect time because I was looking for a gel moisturizer to replace my Tatcha The Water Cream ($68/A$99 for 1.7 oz/50 ml) because as much as I love it, it’s just way too expensive! It’s also a bit too thin for my skin this winter, but I don’t want to use rich, creamy moisturizers and currently prefer gel and lightweight ones. This is only $37/A$55 (2 oz/60 ml), so I was excited to try this out!

Our lightweight oil-free gel cream, with exclusive clean air technology, delivers oxygen onto skin so it can breathe freely and recover from the signs of daily life that may age your skin. 80% felt skin could breathe freely and resist signs of a busy lifestyle.

The texture is very bouncy and has a light green tint to it. So far, this has provided more moisture and hydration than the Tatcha Water Cream and the scent is also very soothing, which makes it perfect for use before bed as it’s very relaxing! It’s completely oil free, so I’m sure it won’t clog the pores. My skin has been pretty smooth lately all thanks to my current skincare routine and this new addition to my skincare lineup hasn’t aggravated the skin or caused it any trouble. If anything, it’s actually helped my dehydrated skin so much!

PHILOSOPHY THE MICRODELIVERY OVERNIGHT ANTI-AGING PEEL REVIEW

AVAILABLE FROM: RY (A$119)

This kit is targeted for wrinkles, loss of firmness and enlarged pores, and although my skin is pretty much still wrinkle free and firm, I do struggle with pores.

I can tell I’m going to be in a long term relationship with this kit! I’ve only used this for about two weeks, but I’m loving the results thus far. My pores on my nose were pretty visible, although they weren’t oily or anything, but after about three uses I could see that my pores are much less visible. I use this kit about twice a week.

This is a two-step system that may look pretty complicated, but I can assure you, it’s so easy to use!

The first step is a “leave-on peel solution” that you have to wipe over your cleansed skin with a cotton pad. I like how they included 24 cotton pads in the kit! This solution contains AHAs and BHAs that will work overnight to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin, so make sure that when you use this kit you’re not using any of your other serums, or else you might aggravate the skin.

The second and last step is the “youth-extending night gel”, which is the soothing gel that goes with the peel. I love how this feels on the skin, but it’s not moisturizing enough so I’d finish off with the Philosophy Take A Deep Breath moisturizer and call it a night.

Both of these products are available on RY and one thing I love about buying from them is their rewards program, discounts and free gifts! If you buy the Microdelivery peel kit now you’ll get a free 30 ml Philosophy Microdelivery Facial Wash (30 ml) valued at A$10.
