Mary Kay Spring 2015 “Paradise Calling” Collection Review

Even though we’re now in the middle of Spring, Melbourne’s weather certainly isn’t acting the part! It’s been so windy and rainy these past few days, but the Mary Kay Parading Calling Collection has really brightened up my days!

I got the cream shadows, lip lacquers, a gorgeous makeup bag and a moisturizing spray lotion from the collection. Check out my review and swatches of the Mary Kay Parading Calling Collection below.

Whipped Eye Color

These are the only eye products in the collection, and it comes with three limited edition shades in the whipped eye color range:

  • Lagoon: A bluish teal green with a slightly metallic finish.
  • Seafoam: A shimmery, metallic minty aqua green. The most sheer out of the three, but definitely buildable.
  • Tiki Hut: A chocolate bronze, also with shimmery-metallic finish.

They have a very soft, squishy, mushy, mousse-y, foamy and bouncy texture! So cute!

Best of all, they’re very, very intensely pigmented! My favorite would have to Lagoon because it’s such a unique shade!

It can be a bit clumpy when first applied, but once blended with the fingers, it smooths out so easily.

Longevity when worn alone isn’t incredible though. I’ve only tried Tiki Hut and it started creasing by about the fourth or fifth hour. However, it’s incredible when worn as a base for powder shadows!

Lacquered Lip Shine

As for the lips, they have three limited edition shades in the range, and they’re very Summery!

  • Exotic Orchid: A bright light purple.
  • Tropical Mandarin: An intense orange-red with warm undertones.
  • Sunbaked: A warm, nude beige.

All these lip lacquers have incredible pigmentation – it’s like lipgloss with the color intensity of a lipstick. Exotic Orchid and Sunbaked can be a bit sticky if layered too much, while Tropical Mandarin is definitely the smoothest.

Longevity is pretty impressive for a glossy lip product – about 4 hours!

It comes with a doe foot applicator and it makes precise application a breeze!

Moisturizing Spray Lotion

The last product I got from the collection is the moisturizing spray lotion – basically a lightweight body moisturizer in a spray bottle. This is perfect for warm weather because it’s very lightweight, smooth and not tacky or sticky at all.

I love the fact that it comes in a spray because this makes application so much easier! The lotion doesn’t take too long to get absorbed into the skin, and it has a light coconut water scent. YUM!
