5 Day to Night Makeup Essentials

Day to Night Makeup Essentials

Ever need to head straight out to a party or dinner right after work or class?

Carrying  makeup your bag around on such a night can be a huge inconvenience, so how can we transform our daytime look into a full-on glam nighttime look with minimal products?

Read on to discover my five day to night makeup essentials to take your makeup look from office to dance floor-ready in no time!

1. Eye and Cheek Palette

Opt for a versatile palette that has both eye and cheek products to make your life easier! I’m loving this Shu Uemura Tokyo Doll Eye & Cheek Palette (reviewed here) because one section is filled with soft warm browns and pinks for an effortlessly gorgeous daytime look while the other section has stunning dark colors to amplify and glam-ify any look.

Start out the day by applying the soft bronze shade on the eyelids and to transform it into a nighttime look, simply add and blend out the black or burgundy on the outer corners to glam it up. Add some glitter on the center of the lids while you’re at it!

For the cheeks, peach is the perfect daytime flush but amp it up with a dolly pink at night.

2. Dual Ended or Bright Lipstick

The thing about dual ended lipsticks is that you get two colors out of it, and I love the Bite Beauty Lipstick Duo in Date (nude MLBB) & Fig (nude rose). Start out the day with the nude MLBB shade and apply the brighter rosy color at night!

If you can’t find a dual ended lipstick, simply bring any bright colored lipstick like a Barbie pink or a red – apply it as a stain during the day by patting it on your lips with your finger, and apply it straight from the bullet in full opacity at night.

3. Liquid Eyeliner

Need to add some drama? Simply wing it out! Bringing a liquid eyeliner is always handy as an elongated, sharp cat-eye will dramatize any look!

You can opt for a gel eyeliner too, but I always prefer liquid eyeliners as you won’t need to apply it using a separate brush. My favorite and holy grail will always be the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper.

4. False Lashes

Adding more layers of mascara can clump up your lashes and increase the risk of it smearing during the night. To amp up your lashes, opt for falsies instead.

These 1000 Hour Day to Night lashes are so convenient as they come with a natural-looking pair of lashes for daytime, and a fuller, more dramatic pair for nighttime use.

5. Cream Highlighter

No night out makeup is complete without a bomb highlighter on your cheekbones!

I love the Stila Convertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Cream in Kitten to apply on my inner corners, cupid’s bow and cheekbones. Creams are easier to apply because you won’t require a blush to apply them – simply use your fingers!
