August 2015 Beauty Favorites

Can’t believe we’re more than halfway through the year already and it’ll be Christmas again in no time! SAY WHAT!

Anywhoo, here are products I’ve been loving this month.

Biore UV Perfect Spray SPF50 PA+++ This product truly is a skinsaver. I vacationed in Bali for a week and this was always in my beach bag. Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen has been my holy grail sunscreen for years and the release of the spray version of the sunscreen is the answer to my prayers. Plus, it’s WATER RESISTANT! OH MY GAWD. #jawdrop

It’s so easy to reapply because you don’t need to rub or blend this on your skin, you just spray! Just like the watery essence version, this does not feel greasy on the skin. Heck I couldn’t even tell I had anything on my skin, and at the end of the day – not a single bit of sunburn. BOOM! #micdrop

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer I’ve rediscovered my love and obsession for this concealer ever since I had this huge, bulging cystic acne in between my brows. What a lovely place to pop up, huh?

Anyways, this has been the only concealer that can last more than 6 hours on my skin without fading! It is also completely opaque so it can cover the darkest marks.

However, getting an opaque/full-coverage finish can be a bit tricky because this product is very creamy. What I do is I apply it on the spot but don’t blend it straight away – I wait for it to set for about a minute (30 secs to a full minute) before I lightly dab it around with my dampened beauty blender. This allows the concealer to harden and set first, so once you blend it lightly it won’t spread around too much, making it easier to create a more opaque finish.

Then I set it with my current-holy-grail Cargo HD Pressed Powder in 25, which is a powder foundation, but I use it to set my concealer on my blemish because I could use extra coverage. This makes an excellent powder foundation and setting powder when used ever so lightly.

Speaking of… I’ve also been crazy in love with my Sigma F35 Tapered Highlighter brush. This copper one I have is new but I’ve had the silver one for almost a year and I’ve been using this to set my concealers. Can’t believe it took me this long to finally sing praises for this amazing brush! This is excellent to apply setting powder, highlighter and even contour.

Still on the complexion front, the Bourjois Nude Sensation has been my go-to foundation for the past few weeks. I don’t want to say much about it here because a full review on this incredible foundation will be published tomorrow!

3CE Gradation Bold Blush in Peachy Beach I got this at Stylenanda when I was in Hong Kong and the limited edition gradation blushes really stood out to me because (1) out of all 3CE’s black packaging, these were the only pink ones, and (2) the gradation are out-of-this-world gorgeous! I was completely sold when I swatched this on my hand – just look at that luminous, satin sheen!

Full review will be up by the end of this week!

Excuse my hideous dark circles! Wasn’t wearing makeup at all. Except the blush!

I love blushes that have a luminous finish because it’s like a blush and highlighter in one, so this is so perfect for me. Plus, there are three blush colors to choose from – pink (top), orange (bottom), and a gorgeous combination of the two which creates a warm, coral glow. Just. Perfect.

Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow Mixed Berry This has been the only thing I’ve been constantly wearing on my lips for the past month whenever I’m on a makeup-free day (which is most days!). It’s very, very moisturizing and better yet, the sheer purplish pink tint it gives is just adorable! The sweet-but-not-overly-nauseating berry scent is also a major plus!

On days when I do wear a full face of makeup, this has been my go-to lip combo: Too Faced Perfect Lips Lip Liner in Perfect Pink topped off with Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Canvas on the center. Will post lip swatches soon!

Well, that’s it!

Happy Spring, my loves! (It’s literally raining and gloomy as I write this. LOL. #melbourneproblems SMH)
