Cosmedix Benefit Clean Gentle Cleanser Review

Cosmedix is a brand that I honestly have never heard of until recently, and I’m glad I did! The Cosmedix Benefit Clean Gentle Cleanser is a safe and gentle cleanser that is suitable for all skin types, perfect even for sensitive and hypersensitive skin. It’s so gentle that it may even be used for post-operative or post-peel skincare.

I’ve been using this cleanser for the past few weeks, and I’ve been loving it! In fact, it has actually replaced my makeup remover – this cleanser removes makeup so well I no longer need to double cleanse. This is now my holy grail cleanser! Read on for my Cosmedix Benefit Clean Gentle Cleanser review!

Ingredients

The active ingredients in this cleanser include Herbal Amaranth, a herb-derived, gluten-free protein, packed with a complete set of amino acids to help prevent moisture loss, and D-Glucuronolactone, the basic building block of hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulfate. D-Glucuronolactone is a precursor to Vitamin C.

It’s also good to know that this cleanser is SLS free and irritation free with a pH level of 7.25.

Texture and Consistency

The cleanser has a thick gel texture and slightly foams up when rubbed on wet skin.

I find that this cleanser takes off makeup really well, including waterproof makeup, without being too drying or abrasive on the skin. Most gel-textured cleansers will leave my skin feeling stripped and tight, but this doesn’t. This is even more effective when used with a cleansing device like a Clarisonic (reviewed here) or a FOREO.

I love how I no longer need to remove makeup with a separate makeup remover. This doubles up as a makeup remover and a cleanser. I honestly have never had a cleanser that removes makeup so well, even the highly coveted Philosophy Purity cleanser can’t remove makeup that well.

Packaging

The product comes in a pump bottle packaging and looks very futuristic, which I love!

I’m not too fond of the pump though as it only dispenses a small amount of product, so I usually use about 2-3 pumps.

Price

This retails for US$39 at SkinStore.com and AU$52.80 at Adore Beauty.

It is expensive, and I wish it weren’t that expensive because I really like this cleanser!
