(This is an updated version of a post I originally published on 6 February 2015).
Just a bit of a background story… I’ve been stuck in my family home in Jakarta for the past few weeks since my babymoon in Europe had to be cut short due to medical problems and we had to return home. My husband preferred that my son Zayden and I stayed in Indonesia with my family until I’m much better since it would be difficult for me to take care of a toddler without help in Melbourne while being pregnant and sick. And I’m glad we did.
However, since my extended stay in Jakarta was unexpected, I didn’t have enough skincare products to last for the duration of my stay here. I only brought tiny travel-sized versions of my current Pregnancy Skincare Routine products and I’ve run out of them! So I had no choice but to temporarily modify my skincare routine.
Since Jakarta’s climate is hot and humid… I thought this would be the perfect time for me to update this post because my usual skincare routine is a bit more suitable for drier climates! In this kind of weather, we often struggle to find ways to keep our skin clear and properly hydrated, but grease-free. Over-moisturizing can cause clogged pores and greasiness, but lack of moisture can cause dehydration and acne too.
So, how do I keep my skin acne-and-oil free in hot & humid weather?
