I’ve been using the Pantene Pro-V 3 Minute Conditioner with the Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo over the past week and have been loving the results it has given my dried-out, hormonal pregnancy hair – check out my thoughts below!
Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Conditioners
There are three products in the “3 Minute Miracle” Conditioners range:
- Daily Moisture Renewal
- Repair & Protect
- Colour Protection
I tested out the Daily Moisture Renewal and it is the most suitable one for me as my hair has been looking so dry and frizzy!
The product comes in a tall, gold squeeze tube and I love shower products, especially ones with thicker consistency, that are packaged this way because it’s easy to squeeze every last bit of product once it reaches the bottom. (I don’t like having to place bottles of upside down when they’re almost finished just to get every last drop of the product – but I’m cheap so I still do it anyway LOL!)
The first thing I noticed when I squirted out the product was the scent – a very pleasant balance between floral and fruity, but not too overwhelming and doesn’t linger long after being dried. I love it!
Another thing that I noticed was how thin the consistency is. I expected it to be much thicker in texture as it’s supposed to work like a hair mask in a way.
The thinness actually made it a bit difficult for me to evenly and quickly spread the product in my hair. I had to squeeze out a lot of product and it took a good 30-45 seconds for my long butt-length hair to be evenly covered and smoothed out (note: I only intensely applied this from the middle to the ends of my hair, and only applied the reside to the roots). It took another 20-30 seconds for me to run my fingers through my hair until it is completely smooth and untangled. I then wrapped my hair up and stuffed it in a shower cap for three minutes.
Rinsing it out was heavenly – I loved how the scent filled up the shower, and I loved being able to run my fingers through my long hair without them getting stuck in knots and tangles.
I’ve tried this product three times so far, and styled my hair three different ways. Here are the results:
- Air Dried: Hair dried up really fast and I’m very happy with how my hair remained untangled for hours (that is until I tied it up in a ponytail), and I did notice that my hair was softer – especially after I brushed it with my favorite Denman Grooming Brush! However, I honestly didn’t notice any additional shine to the hair.
- Hair Dryer and Straigtener: I got the best results with this combo! My hair was smooth-as-silk, tangle-free, and oh my, the shine was real. It felt like I just walked out of a super-nourishing salon treatment. My hair was bouncy, fluffy and soft – but straight!
- Hair Dryer and Curling Wand: This was my least favorite result because the conditioner really smoothed out my hair that it didn’t want to hold the curls – I ended up with wavy (but soft!) hair. Maybe I should’ve tried curling it with second day hair after using this product!
So, overall, I really like this product for days when I know I’d like my hair air dried or styled straight, but maybe not when I want it curled. This product is supposed to smooth and add shine to the hair and maybe that’s why it works best when the hair is styled straight?
What made this product stand out from other conditioners is just how smoothing it really is. Although I didn’t have the best experience with how it applied on my hair, I was very happy with the results.
