July 2016 Makeup Favorites

Gosh it felt like forever since I last posted a favorites post!

Here are a few of my favorite and most-worn makeup products from the past month.

Benefit Browvo! Conditioning Primer

Benefit Brows (1)I will be reviewing these brand new Benefit brow products soon, so I’m not going to say much about them in this post, but if you have stray brow hairs that need taming, or if you need fuller-looking brows – you might want to give this a try.

I thought I was just adding an unnecessary step in my makeup routine at first, but this primer made me realize how messy and unruly my brows were. I didn’t realize how much they needed to be tamed and kept in place until I tried this.

Will share more in my in-depth review but long-story-short, this kept my messy brow hairs in place all freaking day and it also made it look fuller (because all the stray hairs were being kept in place, i.e. within the brow shape), AND my brow products actually last a whole lot longer on top of this primer!

Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil

Will also be reviewing this, but just gotta say that this brow pencil certainly is “goof proof”. You can’t go wrong with it because the pigments will only show up when it touches the brow hairs, and not the skin, making it easier for us all to just fill in our brow hairs and not making the mistake of over-drawing the brows.

This is perfect if you’re a makeup newbie or if you’re in a hurry because of the slanted, diamond shaped pencil as you won’t have to draw a thousand tiny strokes to create perfect brows.

Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Kidman's Kiss (1)Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips in Kidman’s Kiss

This is my current ride or die warm, nude pink lipstick and I’ve just recently reviewed it so I’m not going to say much – read the detailed review here!

Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in La La

This shade is a true rose gold with a frosty, metallic finish.

I’ve been wearing this as an all-over lid color A LOT this past month as it’s very intensely pigmented and metallic, and its intensity  holds up really well throughout the day.

Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint

February Favorites 2016 (1)This was already featured in my February 2016 Makeup Favorites, but I just had to mention it again because I have a ton of foundations in my stash and I swear I’ve been trying to use them all up before they expire, but it’s proving to be really difficult as I just keep coming back to this skin tint!

This gives the skin because I love that it evens out my skin tone and brightens my complexion while still looking like skin.

L'Oreal Lumi Illuminator (2)L’Oreal Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer

I’ve been mixing my Glossier Skin Tint with this light-enhancing primer when I want that extra skin-like glow. This isn’t as “va-va-voom” glowy as the Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow, but “the glow” that it gives isn’t muted either.

I do see a difference when I mix this in with my foundation even though it’s very subtle. I especially love this on effortless no-makeup makeup days.

This can be used underneath foundation, mixed in with foundation, or even on its own.

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

MOTD 230716This is featured in my Top 10 Best Drugstore Makeup Products post because it is hands down my favorite blush from the drugstore and is also in my Top 5 All-Time Favorite Blushes list if I ever had to make that list. It’s an incredible drugstore gem and it is hyped up for a reason.

Luminoso is a warm, peachy coral shade with a sheen but not too orange that it makes you look silly, it just gives the cheeks warmth and brightens up the whole complexion. It’s not shimmery, metallic, frosty or glittery – it just gives a gorgeous sheen without overdoing it. Been reaching for this 99% of the time this past month!

NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee

This has been the only lipgloss I’ve been keeping in my purse over the past month! Check out my review and swatches of the NYX Butter Glosses here.

NYX Butter Glosses - Swatches (2)

This specific shade is a very natural-looking pretty pink nude with a hint of warmth that can be worn alone or on top of lipstick. It’s my go-to lipgloss that works on top of every lipstick I have ever paired it with. It’s also very “buttery” and hydrating on the lips without being sticky or goopy.

I especially love wearing this with my Too Faced La Créme Lipstick in Spice Spice Baby (see below).

Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lipstick in Spice Spice Baby

If I ever had to make a list of my all-time favorite lipsticks, this would be in the Top 5.

Whenever I’m in a rush and am in need of a trusty, goof-proof “my lips but better” shade, this is my absolute go-to.

The color is just a few shades darker than my natural lip color, which makes it the perfect MLBB. It gives a pop of color while still making it look natural and best of all, the formula is utterly incredible. My lips are very dry and problematic, lipsticks often irritate my lips and cause all sorts of flakiness and even peeling – but this hydrates my lips like lip balms do.

Also, it is the most long-lasting creamy lipstick I’ve ever tried.

So if you need a long-lasting, creamy, hydrating, intesely-pigmented, natural-colored lipstick with a slightly glossy finish – give this a try.
