Too Faced Pretty Little Planner Review

I was so ecstatic when Ulta recently gave me a 20% off storewide coupon (yes, prestige brands included!) because I could finally splurge on some things I’ve been eyeing for a while, namely the Ulta-exclusive Too Faced Pretty Little Planner set that was released as part of their Best Year Ever Christmas collection (2017).

Now that I finally got to play around with it a bit, here’s my Too Faced Pretty Little Planner review.

TOO FACED PRETTY LITTLE PLANNER

So, what’s in this set?

Too Faced Pretty Little Planner is an amazing collection that contains everything you need for the best year ever. For the first time in Too Faced history, they’ve created a totally Too Faced Limited Edition Beauty Agenda so you can make all your pretty little plans for 2017. Of course, they had to include a gorgeous palette of 15 matte and shimmer eye shadows plus their bestselling Better Than Sex Mascara for limitless eye looks you can flaunt all year long. – Ulta Beauty

The set contains:

  • Eyeshadow Palette (0.45 oz)
  • Deluxe Better Than Sex Mascara (0.17 oz)
  • Limited Edition Agenda Cover
  • Year-Round Agenda with Sticker Sheet

HOW CUTE ARE THEY!

Here’s a look at the planner:

The planner is so thin it would perfectly fit in any purse! It contains a planner with a monthly-view, four of step-by-step makeup guides (one for each season), and several lined note pages. I can’t get over how adorable the design is!

The payoff of the shimmer and frosty shades are incredible, and why am I not surprised? Too Faced shadows have always been known to be of incredible quality. The Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette remains to be one of my top favorite eyeshadow palettes of all time, and that’s a big statement!

I really like the variety of colors and finishes, I can certainly create a wide variety of looks with this selection of colors! There’s enough crease, lid and highlight shades to play around with.

The creamiest and most buttery shades are definitely the shimmery ones, especially Werkshop, Good As Gold, and Break The Ice, which is why those are my favorite shades in the palette. Some of the lighter matte ones like Secret Santa, Good Girl and Why Not are patchy, but still blendable.

LONGEVITY

I’ve only worn this palette once so I’m not sure I can judge the longevity yet, but the one time I wore it it lasted for more than 8 hours with primer. The shimmers did fade a bit but the color is still there, which is pretty normal for a lot of eyeshadows.

PRICE

This retails for $42 and is a whopping $198 value, so I was happy I got this (and a few other stuff) at 20% off, plus I had about $20 worth of reward points that I could redeem! Unfortunately, as this is an Ulta-exclusive palette, it’s only available from Ulta so I’m not sure if it’s available internationally.

FINAL VERDICT

All in all, I really like this palette and the planner and agenda cover that it comes with. I don’t know why I was kinda hoping it would’ve come with the waterproof version of the Better Than Sex mascara, maybe because it would’ve matched the Tiffany-blue color theme that’s going on here. LOL.

Anyway, I’ve always been a fan of Too Faced’s Holiday collections, and this year they continue to meet my expectations. However, I really wish they would’ve made the palette scented! Last year’s Grande Cafe Hotel set still remains one of my favorite collection of palettes ever, mainly because they’re coffee-scented. I wish they would’ve added the same scents this year!

But still, the whole set is amazing and it was worth every penny. I seriously can’t recommend this palette enough!

I will be getting the Sephora version, called the Boss Lady Beauty Agenda ($58) during the upcoming VIB sale! So I will update this post and let you know how they compare then.
