Sorry I’ve been MIA for the past week. Had a little health drama! 🙂
Was hospitalized last Thursday for Bells Palsy and a brain nerve inflammation which caused numbness and weakness in my right limbs. What I thought would only be an overnight stay turned out to be a 5-day stay! 🙁 I’m still in the process of recovery and I’m still wearing an eye patch on my right eye (coz the Bells Palsy paralyses my right eye – I haven’t been able to close my right eye for the past week!) so reading and writing (typing) has been super difficult with just one eye, but I’m still gonna try! Two days before my hospital admission I hauled a few Charlotte Tilbury goodies online and when I returned home from the hospital, my goodies were there waiting for me on the dining table. I couldn’t be happier!
Curious to see what I got? Let’s unpack with me! Read on to view all the beautiful close ups and swatches!

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow (US$68)
This was the reason I got sucked into the whole Charlotte Tilbury haul!
Everybody and their moms and aunts are raving about this thing – I had to check it out. This bronzer (contour) & highlight duo is probably Charlotte’s best selling product, and I can see why. (This is featured in my January 2014 Favorites too!)
It is perfection…
(Update: These are now available in several different shades!)
The box itself is very unique – it’s very elegantly multi layered.
I have no words for the packaging of this product.
It’s so lightweight, sleek, elegant, and sturdy. I can imagine myself travelling with this baby already, and not having to worry about damaging it at all.
Let’s get a close up look! The embossing is so beautiful and mesmerizing – I can’t imagine ever hitting pan on these, my heart would shatter.
I was immediately mesmerized by the highlight shade, but was a bit skeptical about the sculpt shade. It looks so light, it may be a good sculpting product for fair skinned people. I haven’t tried this on myself so I can’t testify, but when I swatched it on my arm it does look very subtle, which I think would be a good thing!
It definitely does not look too orange, or too grey – it’s the perfect middle shade for contouring.
I can’t wait to wear this baby!
Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette (US$53)
This was the second Charlotte Tilbury product on my wishlist!
I knew I wanted to get one of the luxury palettes but I spent ages trying to find the right one. I ended up getting this one because it seemed to have the warmest tones and I’m all for warm-toned palettes! I gravitate towards warmer shades 🙂
These colors gave the eyes a gorgeous, natural pop of color.
This quad is made up of the following colors:
- Prime: frosty warm, pink champagne highlight shade
- Enhance: satin/metallic warm red-burgundy outer-corner shade shade
- Smoke: Dark khaki-brown/green shade with subtle gold shimmers (sorry it looks so washed out here!)
- Pop: Golden copper glitter shade to be used on top of the other shades as a “top coat”
They swatch so beautifully – super creamy and pigmented! 🙂
Charlotte Tilbury Pink Venus Lip Cheat (US$22)
I also spent ages (i.e. days) deciding on which lip pencil I wanted! In fact, these last three items, I took a total of 3 days to decided which shades I wanted. LOL. They’re so expensive I have to make sure I get the right shades!
I was deciding between the Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk and Pink Venus, and decided on Pink Venus because Pillow Talk might end up being the exact same shade as my natural lip color, so I wanted something that would look a tad brighter and pinker!
I did not regret getting this shade over the Pillow Talk, I think it would look so much more flattering on me and it would go well with so many lipstick shades! It also swatched on very smoothly and buttery, but was a bit of a task to remove, which I think is great! Can’t wait to test its longevity.
See below for swatches.
Charlotte Tilbury Coachella Coral Lipstick (US$34)
I contemplated between getting this shade and a few other shades, namely Bitch Perfect and Penelope Pink and Nude Kate.
It came down to Bitch Perfect and this shade, Coachella Coral. Again, I decided on this one because it’s brighter and I didn’t feel like spending a ton of money on another MLBB shade (which I have tons of already! hehe).
Packaging and Product
The product comes in a rose gold tube – AAH!!!!! It’s so pretty!
The shape reminds me of Estee Lauder lipsticks, expect Estee Lauder lipstick packagings are (yellow) gold. These are rose gold although they look pure gold in these pictures. Sorry! 😀
The shade is a pretty, bright coral-pink shade. I can’t wait to wear this baby!!!
Here are both lip pencil and lipstick swatched:
I’m so glad to say I don’t regret buying any of these!
But all the other shades I was contemplating on getting are all on my Christmas wishlist! Woohoo! 🙂
I will be testing out these products once I recover, hopefully in the next few days (or weeks) 🙁
In the mean time, if you’ve purchased any Charlotte Tilbury products, what are your recommendations? What products should I get next? 😉
