May 2016 Makeup Favorites: My Travel Essentials

Favorite Travel Essentials

I’ve been living out of a makeup bag this past month since I’ve been traveling quite a lot. Although our babymoon in Europe had to be cut short due to medical conditions, I’m currently resting in my hometown Jakarta, Indonesia – and I’m still living out of my makeup bag. This makes me appreciate these travel sized babies so much!

These are the only things I have in my tiny makeup bag and believe me, I never find myself needing anything more!

Check out my absolute favorite and must-have makeup travel essentials below!

Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow (US$55)

Charlotte Tilbury Haul (1)I don’t have a primer with me because I’ve been using the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream (US$100) as a morning moisturizer and a base, but I’ve sort of been using this as a primer.

I sometimes use this on its own without foundation, but most of the time I would mix this in with my It Cosmetics CC+ Cream (see below) and it gives the skin the most natural-looking dewy glow without making the skin feel tacky or sticky. It also cakes down everything it comes in contact with!

The one pictured above is the travel sized, which is not for sale but available from gift sets. I personally got this as a GWP though. The full sized is pictured on the left along with other Charlotte Tilbury goodies I recently hauled from their flagship Covent Garden store!

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream (US$38)

This has been the only foundation I’ve been wearing these past two weeks. Even the travel size comes with quite a generous amount of product (12 ml / 0.4 fl. oz.) and should last for about a month because a little bit goes a long way.

What I love about this CC cream is that it is very moisturizing but feels lightweight on the skin, I sometimes don’t even need to set it with powder. It’s very easy to apply and blend, and the coverage is medium to full. Amazing for people with dry skin who often feels foundation makes them look cakey!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (US$12-29)

I’m not gonna rave about this too much because this has been featured in a lot of my posts, notably my My Sephora Favorites: Makeup and November 2015 Makeup Favorites posts. This is one of my all-time favorite concealers and I’m so glad they now come in a travel size!

RCMA No Colour Powder (US$12)

This has been the only setting powder I’ve been using for the past two to three months! Read more about it in my March Makeup Favorites post. The great thing about loose powder is that they’re easy to depot, just get an empty jar and fill it up!

Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette (US$75)

Let me just say that, first of all, this palette isn’t for everyone. It contains everything I need in one convenient palette, but it’s not going to create a full-on glamorous look. This covers my whole eyes-and-cheeks’ needs for a soft and natural everyday makeup look and have been the only eyeshadow, blush, highlighter and bronzer I’ve been wearing these past two weeks. I never find myself needing anything extra!

A full review with swatches is coming soon!

Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Double Ended Shadow & Liner (US$12)

If I wanted a more glamorous or smokey eye look, I simply use this! The brown shadow as a base. The eyeshadow colors in the Charlotte Tilbury palette complement this color really well! The champagne colored liner end of the shadow stick is amazing as an inner-corner highlight!

I think I’ve raved about this enough in various blogposts. I have a full review on these, and they were also featured in my Current Drugstore Makeup Favorites and March 2016 Beauty Favorites posts.

The specific one I always bring traveling with me is Queen Of The Bronzed Age.

It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil (US$24)

This is my all-time favorite brow pencil for travel because even though it’s tiny, it lasts a long time! Unlike Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz that gets short really, really fast.

This is very long lasting and hardly ever smears or fades away during the day. Also, the greyish-brown taupe color looks great on all skin tones!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner (US$19)

Hands down, my all-time favorite liquid liner! This has been featured in so many of my blogposts, the latest being the Sephora Favorites: Makeup post. Easy to work with, very long lasting, and comes in a travel size! Incredibly reliable for travel.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara (US$12-24)

No lash curler? No problem! The main reason I love this for travel is because it curls the lashes and holds it so well even without eyelash curler! It separates the lashes and gives them natural-looking volume too. This is my go-to mascara for travel!

Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix (US$14-30)

This was featured in my Top 10 Make Up For Ever Summer Picks blog post because it’s my all-time favorite setting spray. The travel size is so easy to carry around and the packaging doesn’t get dirty too easily, unlike the Urban Decay All-nighter spray that always catches dust and pigment. It’s also see-through so you can see how much product you have left.

The product itself is amazing because it makes everything look much less cakey and more skin-like. It also helps everything last so much longer.

Tarte Double Duty Lip Sculptor (US$24)

This double-ended lip product is an absolute travel must-have for me! The lipstick color is gorgeous and so comfortable on the lips, and the formula of the lipgloss is also incredible! The color I brought with me this time is Voltage.

Read more about it in my review!
